Master of Science of Biblical Studies (M.B.S.)
The Master of Science of Biblical Studies (M.BS) is an advanced Bible training course at the Logos Institute of Theology. The MSBS degree is designed to equip students with intermediate knowledge of the Scriptures and offers training in advanced study areas.
- Students must have a bachelor's degree or have completed at least 120 semester hours of college-level work to begin at this level.
- Students may receive advanced standing through transfer credits and, where well-qualified, through lifetime credits.
- Provides solid preparation for the Doctorate programs at LIT.
- Internship includes actual preaching, program coordination, and ministerial service to the community.
- Students must maintain a 3.5 GPA to advance into the Doctorate programs at LIT.
Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in Biblical & Theological Studies
The Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in Biblical & Theological Studies is a program for those called to ministry in the church or Christian organizations. This double major provides flexibility regarding elective course concentration while ensuring advanced biblical, theological, and ministry courses are included.
- Prepares students for a career as a teacher of the Word.
- Students engage in intensive biblical language study and explore theology, philosophy, and history in depth.
- Shares a similar theological concept with the Master of Theology degree while focusing on Biblical and Theological Studies.
- Provides flexibility regarding elective course concentration.
- Students must maintain a 3.5 GPA to advance into the Doctorate programs at LIT.
Graduation Requirements
Required Program Credits
The Master's Degree programs consist of general education courses, program-specific courses, and electives. To qualify for a Master's degree, students must complete the minimum number of 35 credit hours required in their programs and earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better in college-level courses. In addition, students must participate in practicum services and community outreach as outlined in course requirements along with meeting other graduating requirements.
